A 2000 kVA, 11/0.4 kV transformer developed oil leakage at the low-voltage
bushing and tap changer, posing a risk to insulation and operation. For the
first time, the complete repair was successfully carried out in-house by the
maintenance team.
The work included oil draining and filtration, replacement of faulty
bushings, gaskets, and seals, repair of the tap changer leakage, and resealing
of all flanges. After vacuuming and oil refilling, standard tests confirmed the
transformer’s integrity. The unit was restored to service, achieving
significant cost savings and enhancing the team’s technical capability.
